Have you heard? I'm going to Portland tonight. The weather seems to have calmed down (not much of a snow storm, really) and tonight I fly away to my former home. I am totally thrilled at just the thought of all the fun I'll have! I have many a dear friend to see, a birthday to celebrate, an ocean to reconnect with and likely a LOT of craft beer to consume. Besides Powell's and Stumptown, here are just a few things I plan on doing in the 4 days I'm there:
I have been freaking out over these for quite some time, but was reminded of them again as I sit here thinking about my mister who is a tad far away at the moment. The Dedon Nestrest: the stuff dreams are made of. It is my goal to become a millionaire with the express purpose of having these all over my house...and above my stream...and in my yard...and probably one at the office. Designed by French duo Daniel Pouzet and Fred Frety.

This winter has been so mild it's almost been like one giant spring-tease. I am constantly thinking "if it were only ten degrees warmer I could...."

Inspired by the Colour Lover posts over at Pugly Pixel I have decided to start my own color feature entitled "Color Me:". What better way to really express how I'm feeling AND show off my incredibly talented photographer friends in the process. These will be posted every Friday in an effort to maintain some semblance of structure over here at grin & share it.
And so, my first Color Me...tickled. Why? Because I get to see the lovely woman in this photo AND the lovely woman who took this photo in TWO SHORT WEEKS!

It is taking every ounce of self-control I have not to start jumping up and down, failing my arms and shrieking like a small child right now. OHMIGOSH.See the full collection here.
quiet // Gotye- Hearts a Mess
(my heart, for the record, is really quite perfect right now--but this is usually how I feel around Valentine's Day)
LOUD // Emiliana Torrini- Jungle Drum (Inspired by Iceland edition)
(Accurate depiction of my life and of my overwhelming desire to go to Iceland)
I was at the friendly neighborhood Target when I stumbled across something I'm sure I should have known about before- City Kid Java. The small "keep it local!" tag drew my eye from the sea of Starbucks and Market Pantry blends. At first I thought "well that can't be..." but sure enough- right next to it, "Choose the virtuous brew that kicks back to the kids in the Twin Cities!"
I love TOMS. How can you not? They are comfty, colorful and do good in the world! In case you have been living under a rock, TOMS donates one pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair bought. It's simple, but with a profound effect. That's why the $80 price tag on these babies should not cause your jaw to drop- because technically you are buying two pairs of shoes! I thought life couldn't get better when they introduced their wedges, but here they are- FLATS. AND they come in leopard print? Sold.
Hey all, you may remember my post about all the success my gent and I had at the Mighty Swell His event a couple weeks back and I am ecstatic to prepare you all for the Hers event this Friday (5:00-9:00)! There will be a huge collection of lingerie, bubbly and the very talented Soraya Hatfield (who has worked with the likes of total local badasses L'Assassins!) will be doing pin-up hairstyles for just $30! As someone who has attempted many-a pin-up hairstyle I can say that $30 is a ridiculous steal compared to the countless hours of bobby pin mishaps and inevitable swearing that comes from even something as "basic" as victory rolls.
What do you hoping for this weekend? Me? I am thinking something like this...
quiet // Shearwater- You As You Were
LOUD // Hospitality- Friends of Friends
Finally had time to put all my #janphotoaday photos together! As you can see, I missed a few- but no one is perfect, right? Feel free to follow me on Instagram under roamifyoumust for #febphotoaday!
I start my first screen printing class tonight (yay!) and have been scouring Etsy for bits of inspiration to get me going. I came across this vendor, TheIdOfOdd, who positively blows my mind. They are screen prints from original pen drawings (impressive) so not exactly classic screen printing, but fantastic nonetheless.
I might have to pick up this little fox for myself...

There has been so much hype about Pinterest this week, have you noticed? While reflecting on it all I realized that Pinterest serves a valuable purpose both in encouraging insatiable consumerism but also in cataloging. I catalog things I want, things I love, things I think are pretty....why not things I actually buy? In an effort to be more mindful of what I am buying and WHY, I am starting a board for what I buy in February. Now, I buy a lot of things, so I am going to be sticking to clothing at first and then likely make up and accessories. I will be tracking how much I wear each new item and at the end of the month do a reflection on it all. Did I wear that red blazer from H&M or has it hung in my closet all month? I hope you will join me on my journey or even embark on one of your own! You can find me as RoamIfYouMust and my board is here. Oh and if you need an invite to Pinterest please comment below and I will be happy to send you one. Happy Pinning everyone!
(oh, and if you need ANOTHER project to work on in February, check out Film Feb Twenty Twelve!)
